GenTech Scientific still repairs 7673B trays with an in-house repair service.
My technician says that he runs across this problem all of the time, and says it is most likely caused by a bad sensor board in the tray arm. He says it could also be a stretched belt, a broken or stressed belt tensioner, a cracked or broken flex cable, or obstruction of the magnets.
To determine which of these is your tray's issue, you could send it to GenTech for an evaluation, and then we would contact you with the estimated parts and labor necessary for the repair.
