SSL injector and packed column

Hi all,

i tried to install a packed column to my Split-Splitless injector using Agilent's adapter kit 19243-80510. I have used 5080-8774 ferrule and the appropriate nut to connect the adapter on the injector body. The problem is that although the ferrule fits great in the adapter, it is not fitting on the injector. The cone is not going in the body but it is only touching it causing a leak.I tried to use a file but i had no luck. Do you have any suggestions?

thank you for your reply. This is probably the reason i can not fit the adapter into the SSL injector. It seems like there is an extra thread in its base body.

I have checked Restek's 20645 and i will try it.

The fitting you listed (19243-80510) is used in a 1/4" PACKED inlet to adapt it for 1/8" columns. You need a fitting to adapt a S/SL inlet for 1/8In packed columns. Restek sells this fitting (#20645) that can be used to adapt the S/SL inlet for 1/8" packed columns. This cannot be used with glass columns easily as there is not enough play in the column to make both the detector and inlet connections. However, it can be used for metal packed columns. You cannot program the EPC pneumatics for this configuration but you can set it for fixed pressure and get good results.
