MassLynx intelligently controls any Waters mass spectrometry system, from sample and solvent management components to mass spectrometer and auxiliary detectors. MassLynx Software may acquire nominal mass, exact mass, MS/MS and exact mass MS/MS data.
MassLynx’s Sample List is the core of the system. It maintains and consolidates the data on all of your samples. You also initiate any activities related to your sample from the Sample List. This "sample centric" approach simplifies the interaction with your LC/MS or GC/MS system, acquired data and processed results.

Intuitive Operation MassLynx requires a minimal learning curve - even novice users can operate the instrument and become productive in no time. The MassLynx toolbar provides instant access to instrument status information, sample queue and Application Managers. A single mouse click switches between views of the queue and instrument status while tabs select general or application-specific tools.

Software features a 21 CFR Part 11-compatible security system built on the latest file encryption, audit log, and secure archival/retrieval technology. The flexible security system allows you to tailor and deploy security policies that meet the requirements of your laboratory.

Key components of MassLynx software security system include:
- Secure File Encryption — The latest encryption and checksum technologies prevent accidental or deliberate tampering with files. Add electronic signatures with an optional component of the secure file system
- Audit Log — An un-editable, hidden, encrypted file automatically records all logon and logoff events and security policy changes. MassLynx program module monitors all file generation or manipulation activities or events. This log file can be viewed and searched using LogLynx™. In addition to the MassLynx security system audit log, the QuanLynx Application Manager has a detailed audit log that records the specifics of quantitative data processing
- Secure archival and retrieval — Archive and restore secure data without compromising date and file integrity
Security Manager — Configure access privileges for each user, and deploy operator, administrator, and maintenance policies to meet your security protocols. Multiple user groups with access to other projects areas are permitted fully-secured operation when required and operation in more open projects with more open privileges when appropriate
