Features of Discovery VP Analytical System
Method Development Tool In laboratories with large numbers of samples, it is crucial to quickly isolate target components and identify impurities from the reaction process. The rate-determining step is often method development: experimenting with different columns, solvent combinations, and gradient profiles to achieve the best separations. Discovery VP will do all of that work for you. A few mouse clicks will select some or all of the configured columns and solvents, and gradients can be created of varying complexity. The Stacked Plot report overlays chromatograms generated from all columns run one solvent pair, so the analyst can easily transfer the best method to a Preparative system for scaleup. click for picture
Stacked Plot Report The Stacked Plot Report overlays chromatograms of a single sample run on up to ten columns. Options within the report allow the user to zoom in on the baseline, adjust the X and Y offsets, and add and subtract columns for the best view of the chromatograms.click for picture
Totally Automated Discovery VP´s full automation eliminates the need for an operator to continually monitor the hardware and prepare the column for each injection. At startup, Discovery VP can prime the pumps, and before each injection the column is flushed and equilibrated and a baseline check is done to ensure stability. When all samples are complete, Discovery VP will flush all of the columns used in the queue and turn the power off to the pumps and detector.
Report Generation Discovery VP´s Analytical report can be totally customized to include a chromatogram, peak height, retention time, area, area percent, and other desired parameters.
Detection Options The Discovery VP Analytical system is configured with a UV or PDA detector in the standard packages. Two UV wavelengths may be monitored at once, and up to 4 wavelengths isolated when a PDA is configured. Detectors such as RID or ELSD may be added to monitor non-chromophoric compounds, and the LCMS-2010EV mass spectrometer can scan or monitor positive and negative ions generated by APCI or electrospray.
