Features of Optical Microscope Modules
Autofocus: The use of an active laser autofocus improves the accuracy, repeatability, and speed of inspections. The Olympus autofocus unit is designed with a multi-spot array that enables a substantial increase in stability by eliminating the effects of vertical topography on the sample.
Illuminators: Olympus offers an illuminator built to suit applications for industrial and materials science equipment as well as life science equipment. This universal illuminator includes multiple positions for mirror cubes and is ideal for fluorescence or laser integration. Compact brightfield illuminators include filter slots for Nomarski and polarized light, and motorized illuminators are available for full control of mirror cube position, aperture stop, and illumination intensity.
Light Sources: Olympus microscope frames are coupled with halogen light sources, but can also be fitted with a collimating adapter to introduce a high-intensity halogen fiber or LED fiber options.
Magnification Changers: Magnification changers provide incremental magnification that can be beneficial when a desired field of view is required for the imaging sensor. Magnification changer components are placed before the tube lens within the infinity space of the optical system.
The U-CA provides magnification increments of 1.25x, 1.6x, and 2x and the U-ECA provides a 2x magnification. Both can be used on upright or inverted microscopes. The IX3-CAS is a coded magnification changer.
Camera Ports: Additional camera ports can be used within the infinity space of the system to provide an additional port for an input or output detector.
Nosepieces: Both manual and motorized nosepieces are available that accommodate either five or six objectives. When software integration is incorporated, coded nosepieces are available so that the software can read the magnification setting on the nosepiece. Olympus also offers specially designed cleanroom-compatible motorized nosepieces for semiconductor applications.
Condensers: Olympus offers condensers for transmitted light on both upright and inverted microscopes. The universal condenser provides the ability to perform many illumination techniques on one microscope. Phase contrast, darkfield, and long working distance condensers are available for various applications.
C-Mounts & Video Mounts: Olympus provides a variety of c-mounts and video ports to interface with imaging sensors including 1x, 0.63x, 0.5x, 0.35x, and 0.25x c-mounts and bayonet, T-mounts, and F-mounts.
Digital Cameras: Available upon request, please contact your local Olympus Components representative.
