OEM Components

Equipment designers save substantial engineering and development costs by integrating Olympus' well-known microscope frames into their product instead of designing optical systems themselves. Olympus supplies upright and inverted frames and stereo microscopes for applications such as spectroscopy, semiconductor inspection, digital pathology, and automated cell morphology.

Features of Optical Microscope Frames

Olympus upright microscope frames are modularly designed to allow for application-specific configurations and employ Kohler illumination to provide even distribution of light across the back focal plane of the lens for optimal image formation. The infinity space above the illuminator provides space for optical assemblies and laser inputs. Olympus offers two series of upright microscopes:

The new IX3 series of inverted microscope frames, for reflected and transmitted light observation, has an open deck design that allows for integration of intermediate attachments, custom optical assemblies, and laser integration mainly.

Motorized upright microscope frames are available when software control of hardware is required - functions that involve the nosepiece, mirror cube turret, aperture stop, and/or filter wheels. Olympus can provide command codes, drivers, and SDKs for software integration.
