This rod-shaped source forms a radiation field over the whole source length. Rod sources achieve the best measurement performance, ensuring highest levels of accuracy and reliability.
The resulting measurement signal shows a better linearity, compared to point source applications, since the rod source is custom-build and specifically adapted to each individual measurement geometry.
Due to our unique manufacturing technology, the radioactive material is distributed continuously along the source, thereby modulating the intensity depending on how it is required for the irradiation of the specific measurement geometry. Typically the activity intensifies towards the lower part of the rod source because there the distance to the detector increases and the walls have to irradiated at an angle.
As a result, the signal at the detector is absolutely linear and completely independent from the measurement geometry.
