A point source is a small cylindrical shaped capsule; significantly smaller than a table tennis ball. The capsule contains an inner, even smaller capsule, where the radioactive material is sealed. For an optimum protection we can also provide a 3-fold encapsulation, which is specifically recommended for very hostile measurement environments. 
Our point source capsules are approved according to the international safety standard ISO 2919, where even the highest classification 66646 is exceeded by far. 
Additionally they are leak-tested according to ISO 9978 and DIN 25426. 
These safety source capsules are made from the most resistant material: Titanium or Stainless Steel, for the use in abrasive and high-temperature environments, withstanding up to 1200°C/60 min.
